DMCA takedown services compared: Creator Lighthouse vs Rulta vs BranditScan
A side by side of three leak removal services for creators: what each one costs, how often it scans, who files your DMCA takedowns, and which makes sense for a UK creator on a normal budget.
Commercial disclosure: This article has a commercial relationship with Creator Lighthouse.

Every creator I know has the same search history. “How to remove leaked OnlyFans content.” “DMCA takedown service.” “Is Rulta worth it.” “Rulta vs BranditScan.” Then forty minutes of pricing pages, at least one of which has a plan called Legend.
So here is the comparison I wanted when I was doing that at one in the morning. As the disclosure above says, this article has a commercial relationship with Creator Lighthouse, so I have stuck to numbers you can check and included a section on where the other two are better. Every price comes from the company’s own pricing page, checked on 7 October 2026. Prices change, so click through and check before you pay anyone.
What all three actually do
The core job is the same everywhere. Find copies of your content on leak sites, send DMCA takedown notices to whoever is hosting them, and ask search engines to delist the pages so people stop finding them through Google. If any of that is new, my guide to what takedown services actually do explains the machinery and the questions to ask.
All three also keep your own details off the notices. Rulta calls it anonymous filing, BranditScan calls it Identity Shield, and Creator Lighthouse files as your authorised agent under its company details. Different names, same idea. Do not use any service that makes you put your home address on a notice sent to a pirate site.
So the real differences are price, scanning speed, where the company is, and what else you get for the money.
The price, which is where it gets silly
£0.99
a month for Creator Lighthouse. One plan, everything in it
$0
a month for BranditScan Premium, after a half price first month
$0
a month for Rulta Pro, its cheapest plan, covering one username
Rulta has three plans. Pro is $139 a month for one username, Premier is $184 for two, and Legend is $324 for four. Over a year, Pro alone comes to $1,668. That is a holiday. For a big account it might be a holiday that pays for itself in protected sales. For most of us, especially early on, it is the number that makes you close the tab and go back to sending takedowns yourself.
BranditScan has two. Premium is $69 a month, with the first month at $34.50, and covers three stage names. White Glove is $149 and comes with a personal concierge you can message on WhatsApp, which is a sentence I never expected to write about copyright.
Creator Lighthouse has one. £19.99 a month, or £191.90 a year if you pay annually, with a three day free trial. At current exchange rates that is less than half of BranditScan Premium and less than a quarter of Rulta’s cheapest plan. No per takedown charges, no add ons.
Where Rulta and BranditScan are stronger
A comparison that only praises one side is an advert with a table in it, so here it is plainly.
Scanning speed. BranditScan scans hourly. Rulta says it scans continuously, with trained agents running manual scans on top. Creator Lighthouse runs daily scans. If your content gets ripped within minutes of posting and spreads fast, more frequent scanning is a real advantage.
Track record. BranditScan says it has been operating since 2011 and is part of Google’s Trusted Copyright Removal Program. Creator Lighthouse is a young company. Years of relationships with hosts count for something, and you cannot buy them on day one.
Extras beyond protection. BranditScan includes a link in bio tool and a fan traffic and revenue tool, and Rulta has a profile designer. Creator Lighthouse does not do anything like that at the time of writing. It is protection, plus free courses. If you want promotion tools in the same bill, the other two have them.
The top end. Rulta’s Legend plan adds Telegram takedowns, copyright registration and reverse image search. BranditScan’s White Glove gives you a named person managing your account. If you have an agency sized problem and an agency sized budget, those are real services worth paying for.
Where Creator Lighthouse comes out ahead
The price. Covered above, loudly.
One plan. Nothing to decode, and no finding out after you have paid that the feature you needed lives two tiers up.
It is a UK company. Creator Lighthouse Ltd is registered in England and Wales, so you can look it up on Companies House before you trust it with anything. It bills in pounds, so there is no foreign transaction fee from banks that charge one on dollar payments. Rulta is registered in Estonia and BranditScan lists offices in Canada, the US and Barbados. That does not make them worse at takedowns. It does mean that if you are in the UK, only one of the three is on home turf.
Reverse image matching on the cheap plan. Creator Lighthouse’s one plan includes reverse image matching, which finds copies of your photos that have no name attached. On Rulta, reverse image search is a Legend feature, at $324 a month.
Google and Bing. Creator Lighthouse and Rulta both request delisting from Bing as well as Google. BranditScan’s pricing page only mentions Google. Bing is smaller, but it also feeds other search tools, so a leak delisted from Google alone is only half hidden.
Free courses. Creator University comes with any account: 22 courses and more than 105 practical steps on setting up and marketing each platform. There is a Reddit track too, if my Reddit post made the sidebar rules sound like a lot.
The pitch is plain: proper leak protection for under twenty quid, with the courses thrown in.

Which of these can any DMCA takedown service honestly promise you?
Rulta, BranditScan or Creator Lighthouse: which should you pick?
If you are a large account, leaks spread within the hour, and you have the budget, Rulta or BranditScan’s higher plans buy you faster scanning and more people on your case.
If you are in the UK, or you just want leak removal that costs less than your phone contract, with free courses on the same login, Creator Lighthouse is where I would start. It is a DMCA takedown service built for independent creators, and you can see what it finds before paying anything.
And if you only have one leak on one site, you may not need a service at all yet. The creator safety guide walks through sending a takedown yourself.
Prices and features were taken from each company’s own website on 7 October 2026 and will change. Nothing here is legal advice. Copyright rules differ by country, so speak to a qualified solicitor about your own situation.
